BiteForMe is designed to help users understand food product information, ingredients, nutrition and suitability notes more easily. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles data.
Information We Collect
BiteForMe does not require users to create an account. We do not ask users to provide their name, address, phone number or similar personal identity information inside the app.
Barcode and Product Information
The app may use a scanned barcode to request product information from third-party food databases such as Open Food Facts. Product information from third-party sources may be incomplete, outdated or incorrect.
Photos and Ingredient Labels
If the app provides an ingredient label photo/OCR feature, the purpose is to help the user read and understand label information. BiteForMe does not store users’ ingredient label photos on our own servers.
Local App Data
Some data such as favorites, recently viewed products or app preferences may be stored locally on the user’s device. This local data can be deleted by clearing the app data in device settings or uninstalling the app.
Advertising
BiteForMe may display ads through Google AdMob or similar advertising services. Advertising providers may process device identifiers or advertising identifiers in accordance with their own policies and applicable privacy laws.
Data Retention and Deletion
BiteForMe is designed to minimize the amount of personal data collected from users.
The app does not require users to create an account. We do not store users’ ingredient label photos, barcode scans, health information, or personal food preferences on our own servers.
Some app data, such as favorites or recently viewed products, may be stored locally on the user’s device. Users can delete this local data by clearing the app data from their device settings or by uninstalling the app.

Data obtained from third-party sources such as Open Food Facts is not personal user data controlled by BiteForMe. Users should contact the relevant third-party data provider for requests related to third-party database content.
